Description

This easy Sloppy Joe Casserole with Manwich is the ultimate comfort food — a hearty, cheesy, family-friendly dinner made with tangy Manwich sauce, ground beef, and melted cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey)
  • 1 can (15 oz) Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni (or penne)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup diced onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (plus more for topping)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: ½ teaspoon chili flakes for heat
  • Optional toppings: sliced pickles, chopped green onions, or a drizzle of extra Manwich sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small pieces. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Add flavor: Add diced onion and cook for another 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in the Manwich sauce, mixing well to coat the beef. Let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Combine with pasta: Stir in the cooked pasta until evenly coated with the sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and optional chili flakes.
  5. Assemble the casserole: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top.
  6. Bake: Bake uncovered for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a crispy top, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
  7. Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions or pickles if desired.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken or turkey for a lighter, faster version.
  • Try biscuit dough or tater tots instead of pasta for fun variations.
  • Add extra veggies like diced bell peppers or mushrooms for added nutrition.
  • For extra creaminess, mix a little shredded mozzarella into the beef mixture before baking.
  • Make it ahead of time — assemble and refrigerate for up to 24 hours, then bake fresh when needed.
