- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
Instructions
- Preheat and grease waffle iron.
- Mix dry ingredients for classic batter; whisk wet ingredients separately and combine gently.
- Repeat process for red velvet batter.
- Spoon alternating dollops of both batters onto waffle iron.
- Swirl lightly with a toothpick.
- Cook 3–5 minutes until crisp and cooked through.
- Transfer to wire rack and repeat with remaining batter.
