Description

Cocktail sausages simmered in a sweet and savory pineapple brown sugar glaze with garlic, soy sauce, and a hint of spice—perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (14 oz each) Lil’ Smokies sausages
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir until sugar dissolves.
  2. Add Lil’ Smokies and pineapple chunks. Stir to coat evenly.
  3. Bring mixture to a gentle simmer and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  4. Remove from heat and serve warm.

Slow Cooker Option: Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low for 2–3 hours.
Oven Option: Bake covered at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, stirring halfway through.

Notes

  • Simmer uncovered for a thicker glaze.
  • Adjust cayenne for preferred spice level.
  • Add a splash of pineapple juice when reheating if sauce thickens too much.
  • Serve with toothpicks for easy party snacking.
