Description
All the flavor of a classic Philly cheesesteak — in a cheesy, comforting, low-carb casserole perfect for weeknights.
Ingredients
- 680g ground beef
- 2 bell peppers (any color), chopped
- ½ large onion, chopped
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp seasoned salt
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 60ml heavy cream
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a casserole dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain if needed.
- Add chopped peppers, onions, and garlic. Cook for 5–7 minutes until softened.
- Stir in seasoned salt and Worcestershire sauce. Transfer mixture to the baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs and heavy cream. Pour over beef mixture.
- Layer provolone slices on top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until eggs are set and cheese is melted. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use different colored peppers for visual appeal.
- Add mushrooms or jalapeños for variation.
- Swap beef for ground turkey for a leaner version.
