Description

A simple buttery garlic pasta tossed with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley for a quick, comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves


Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
  3. Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain pasta.
  4. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Stir in crushed red pepper flakes if using.
  7. Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet.
  8. Toss well to coat in butter sauce.
  9. Gradually add Parmesan cheese while tossing.
  10. Add reserved pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce.
  11. Season with salt and black pepper.
  12. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  • Don’t overcook the garlic or it may turn bitter.
  • Add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
