Description
A simple buttery garlic pasta tossed with Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley for a quick, comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.
- Reserve 1 cup pasta water, then drain pasta.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed red pepper flakes if using.
- Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet.
- Toss well to coat in butter sauce.
- Gradually add Parmesan cheese while tossing.
- Add reserved pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
- Don’t overcook the garlic or it may turn bitter.
- Add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
