Description

A rich and creamy homemade Alfredo sauce made with butter, cream, and Parmesan, perfect for pasta dinners.


Ingredients

Pasta:

  • 16 ounces fettuccine or linguine

Alfredo Sauce:

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1¼ cups heavy cream
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

For Serving:

  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions; reserve ½ cup pasta water and drain.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat; add garlic and cook 1 minute.
  3. Stir in garlic powder, salt, and flour; whisk for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and milk; cook until thickened (3–5 minutes).
  5. Reduce heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth.
  6. Toss cooked pasta with sauce, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for smoother melting.
  • Stir constantly to avoid lumps in the sauce.
