Ingredients
For the Crust:
- 25 chocolate wafer cookies (or Oreos), crushed
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Fudgy Layer:
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Pudding Layer:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 3 egg yolks
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Whipped Topping:
- 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Cocoa powder or chocolate curls for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Crust
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine crushed cookies with melted butter and salt.
- Press into a 9-inch pie dish and bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely.
Make the Fudgy Layer
- In a saucepan, melt butter, then whisk in sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla.
- Cool slightly, add eggs, then stir in flour until combined.
- Pour into cooled crust and bake 20–25 minutes. Cool completely.
Make the Pudding Layer
- In a saucepan, whisk sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add milk.
- Cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Add a little of the hot mixture to egg yolks, then return to pan.
- Stir in chocolate, butter, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour over cooled layer. Chill for at least 3 hours.
Add the Whipped Cream Topping
- Beat heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Spread over chilled pie. Garnish with cocoa powder or chocolate curls.
