Description

Cheesy ground beef sandwiches layered with fresh tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeños on hoagie rolls. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Sprinkle in taco seasoning and stir to coat the beef evenly. Add diced onion and cook 3–4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low and add shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, stirring until melted and creamy.
  4. Slice hoagie rolls and spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on each side.
  5. Spoon cheesy beef mixture onto rolls. Top with diced tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño slices if desired.
  6. Serve warm immediately, optionally toasting rolls for extra crunch.

Notes

  • Use fresh cilantro for the best flavor and aroma.
  • Adjust jalapeños or add hot sauce to increase spiciness.
  • For meal prep, store beef mixture separately and assemble sandwiches before serving.
  • Optional: melt cheese under a broiler for a bubbly, golden finish.
