Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts (or thighs), boneless & skinless
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 ½ cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Season Chicken: Sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Sear: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet. Sear chicken on both sides until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Sauce Base: In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant. Add sun-dried tomatoes and stir.
- Cook Orzo: Add orzo, toast lightly, then pour in chicken broth. Simmer until pasta is nearly cooked.
- Creamy Sauce: Stir in heavy cream and parmesan until smooth and creamy.
- Finish: Nestle chicken back into the skillet and cook until chicken is fully done and orzo is tender.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve hot.

- For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of white wine before adding broth.
