Description
A traditional Southern candy made with sugar and cream, hand-pulled into soft, airy pieces with a smooth, creamy texture.
Ingredients
For the Candy:
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Preparation:

Instructions
- Butter a clean surface or baking sheet and set aside.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, heavy cream, corn syrup, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring until dissolved.
- Bring to a boil and cook without stirring until mixture reaches 260°F (hard-ball stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour onto prepared surface and let cool until safe to handle.
- Butter hands and pull the candy repeatedly until it becomes lighter and firm.
- Roll into ropes and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Let cool completely before storing.

- Use a candy thermometer for accurate results.
- Pull candy while warm but not too hot to handle.
- Store in a dry place to maintain texture.
