Description

A quick and flavorful grilled steak recipe made with a sweet and savory honey-garlic marinade. Perfect for grilling season, family dinners, or casual entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 1.52 pounds skirt steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley or cilantro

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes until well combined.
  2. Place the skirt steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Coat evenly, cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 4 hours.
  3. Preheat a grill to high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  4. Remove steak from the marinade and grill for 2–4 minutes per side, until nicely charred and cooked to medium-rare or medium.
  5. Transfer steak to a cutting board and rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Slice thinly against the grain and garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcook skirt steak; it becomes tough if cooked too long.
  • Always slice against the grain for the most tender texture.
  • Flank steak can be used as a substitute if needed.
