Description

Spooky and fun, these Homemade Mummy Hot Dogs are the perfect Halloween party snack. Easy to make with crescent roll dough and hot dogs, they’re kid-friendly, customizable, and ready in under 30 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or veggie)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or puff pastry)
  • 2 cheese slices (optional)
  • Mustard or ketchup (for eyes)
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven – Heat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut Dough – Unroll crescent dough and cut into thin strips (about ¼ inch wide).
  3. Wrap Hot Dogs – Wrap each hot dog with dough strips, leaving small gaps for “eyes.” Optionally, wrap with a slice of cheese first.
  4. Bake – Place wrapped hot dogs on baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Add Eyes – Use mustard or ketchup to dot two eyes on each mummy.
  6. Serve – Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Leave space for “faces” when wrapping so the eyes stand out.
  • For bite-sized snacks, use cocktail sausages instead of full hot dogs.
  • Add candy eyes, olive slices, or cream cheese dots for more realistic eyes.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven instead of the microwave to keep them crispy.
