Ingredients
Biscuits
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick cold salted butter, shredded
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons honey
Honey Butter Topping
- 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 1–2 teaspoons honey
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Fresh chopped basil or parsley
- Sea salt, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Toss shredded cold butter into dry ingredients until coated.
- Stir in cheddar cheese.
- Add milk and honey; mix gently until dough just comes together.
- Pat dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cut biscuits.
- Place on baking sheet and bake 14–16 minutes until golden.
- Mix melted butter, honey, garlic powder, and salt.
- Brush warm biscuits with honey butter and finish with herbs.

- Keep butter cold for the flakiest biscuits.
- Avoid overmixing to maintain a tender texture.
