Description

Ingredients

Biscuits

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick cold salted butter, shredded
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey

Honey Butter Topping

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 12 teaspoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Fresh chopped basil or parsley
  • Sea salt, to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Toss shredded cold butter into dry ingredients until coated.
  4. Stir in cheddar cheese.
  5. Add milk and honey; mix gently until dough just comes together.
  6. Pat dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cut biscuits.
  7. Place on baking sheet and bake 14–16 minutes until golden.
  8. Mix melted butter, honey, garlic powder, and salt.
  9. Brush warm biscuits with honey butter and finish with herbs.
