These Garlic Herb Cod Strips are coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and pan-fried until golden and crisp, then served with a creamy, tangy lemon sauce. A simple seafood dinner that’s full of flavor and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cod fillets, cut into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for frying

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat cod dry and season lightly.
  2. Dredge in flour, dip in egg, and coat in seasoned breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Fry cod strips 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (145°F internal temperature).
  5. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Mix all sauce ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  7. Serve warm with lemon sauce.

Notes

  • Dry fish thoroughly for better adhesion.
  • Maintain steady medium heat to prevent burning the coating.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan for even browning.
