Description

Enjoy a quick and easy twist on the classic French Dip Sandwich with these French Dip Biscuits — flaky, buttery biscuits stuffed with savory roast beef, melty cheese, and served with rich au jus for dipping. Perfect for parties, snacks, or cozy dinners!

Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated flaky biscuit dough (8-count)
  • ½ lb thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 4 slices provolone or Swiss cheese (halved)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted, for brushing)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the Au Jus
In a small saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder. Simmer gently over low heat while you prepare the biscuits.

  3. Assemble the Biscuits

    • Separate each biscuit into two thinner layers.

    • Place a few slices of roast beef and half a slice of cheese on one half.

    • Top with the other half of the biscuit and press the edges to seal.

  4. Bake
Arrange the filled biscuits on the prepared sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.

  5. Serve
Serve warm with the au jus on the side for dipping. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Don’t overfill: A small amount of meat and cheese prevents the biscuits from bursting open.
  • Crispier texture: Bake on a wire rack set over a baking sheet for extra crisp bottoms.
  • Add flavor: Try adding caramelized onions or a spread of horseradish for an extra kick.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
