Description

Tender beef patties simmered in a rich, savory gravy—this Easy Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak is the ultimate comfort food with minimal prep. Perfect for busy weeknights!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • ½ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 (10.5 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet dry au jus mix
  • ¾ cup water

Pro Tip: For less sodium, choose lower-sodium soup and use half the seasoning packets.

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, and dry onion soup mix. Mix gently until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 8 oval patties.
  3. Lightly coat each patty with flour.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown patties on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side. Transfer patties to the slow cooker.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, au jus mix, and water until smooth.
  6. Pour sauce mixture over patties in the slow cooker.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours, or until patties are cooked through and tender.
  8. Serve with the rich gravy spooned on top.

Notes

  • Don’t skip browning—the golden crust adds tons of flavor.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice to soak up the gravy.
  • Add sliced mushrooms to the slow cooker for extra depth.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
