Description
Crispy on the outside and melty on the inside, these fried mozzarella bites are a quick and satisfying snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (10 sticks)
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- Cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Cut mozzarella sticks into bite-sized pieces and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Set up three bowls: flour, egg + milk mixture, and breadcrumbs.
- Coat cheese in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumbs.
- Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for extra crispiness.
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry cheese bites in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
Notes
- Freeze cheese well to prevent melting too quickly.
- Double coat for a thicker, crispier crust.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
