Description

Crispy on the outside and melty on the inside, these fried mozzarella bites are a quick and satisfying snack or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 10 oz mozzarella string cheese (10 sticks)
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cut mozzarella sticks into bite-sized pieces and freeze for 30 minutes.
  2. Set up three bowls: flour, egg + milk mixture, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat cheese in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  4. Repeat egg and breadcrumb coating for extra crispiness.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry cheese bites in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Freeze cheese well to prevent melting too quickly.
  • Double coat for a thicker, crispier crust.
  • Serve immediately for best texture.
