Description

A perfectly creamy, tangy, and tropical pineapple soft serve made with frozen pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, vanilla ice cream, a splash of lemon juice, and a pinch of salt — blended into an exact replica of the iconic Disney Dole Whip in just 5 minutes at home. The most magical frozen treat you can make without leaving your kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 big scoop vanilla ice cream, about ¾ cup
  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, optional but recommended
  • Splash of lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add the pineapple juice, vanilla ice cream, frozen pineapple chunks, sugar, lemon juice, and salt to a high-powered blender.
  2. Blend on high for 60–90 seconds until completely smooth, thick, and creamy — stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
  3. Check the consistency — it should be thick enough to hold a soft serve swirl shape. If it is too thin, add more frozen pineapple and blend again. If it is too thick to blend, add a small splash more pineapple juice.
  4. Transfer immediately to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe into cups in a classic soft serve swirl for the authentic Disney presentation.
  5. Serve immediately for the best soft serve consistency. Alternatively, freeze for 30–45 minutes for a firmer, more scoopable texture.

Notes

  • Use frozen pineapple directly from the freezer — do not thaw before blending as this is what creates the thick, soft serve consistency that makes Dole Whip so distinctive.
  • The pinch of salt and splash of lemon juice are small but essential — salt amplifies the sweetness and lemon enhances the natural tropical tartness of the pineapple in a way that makes the finished result taste significantly brighter and more complex.
  • A high-powered blender produces the smoothest result — if using a standard blender, blend in shorter pulses and scrape down frequently to avoid motor strain.
