Description
A rich, indulgent slow cooker pasta dish featuring layers of frozen cheese ravioli, tender shredded chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, zesty marinara, and generous amounts of melted mozzarella cheese seasoned with garlic, onion powder, and a buttery herb blend. A crowd-pleasing, deeply satisfying dinner that delivers restaurant-quality comfort food with almost zero hands-on effort.
Ingredients
- 1 bag frozen cheese ravioli
- 2–3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 jar Alfredo sauce
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic and herb seasoning blend
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and garlic and herb seasoning blend. Set aside.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce across the bottom of the slow cooker insert to prevent sticking.
- Place the chicken breasts in a single layer over the marinara base. Sprinkle half the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce and the entire jar of Alfredo sauce over the chicken. Stir gently to combine the two sauces around the chicken without moving it.
- Add the frozen cheese ravioli directly on top of the sauce and chicken layer in an even layer. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning mixture over the ravioli.
- Top with the shredded mozzarella cheese in an even, generous layer.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours until the chicken is completely tender, the ravioli is cooked through, and the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.
- Remove the chicken breasts, shred thoroughly with two forks, and stir the shredded chicken back through the ravioli and sauce until everything is evenly combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot directly from the slow cooker.
Notes
- Always start with a thin layer of marinara on the bottom of the slow cooker — it prevents the ravioli from sticking and scorching during the long cook.
- Do not thaw the ravioli before adding it to the slow cooker — frozen ravioli goes in straight from the bag and cooks perfectly in the moisture of the sauces.
- Use freshly shredded mozzarella from a block rather than pre-shredded for significantly better melting and a stretchier, gooier finished result.
