Description
Crispy Chilli Beef Rice is a crispy strips of beef tossed in a sticky chilli-garlic sauce and served over jasmine rice. This easy homemade version of a takeout favorite is bold, flavorful, and satisfying.
Ingredients
- 300g flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red chilli, finely chopped (or 1 tsp chilli paste)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Toss beef with cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry beef in batches until crispy; drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, sauté garlic and chilli. Add soy sauce, honey, vinegar, and sesame oil; simmer until thickened.
- Toss crispy beef in the sauce to coat.
- Serve over cooked jasmine rice and garnish with spring onions.
Notes
- Slice beef thinly against the grain for tenderness.
- Fry in small batches to keep the beef crispy.
- Add extra chilli for more heat, or swap in chilli paste for convenience.
