Ingredients
For the Whipped Feta:
- 8 oz (225 g) feta cheese, crumbled
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
- 1–2 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Cranberry Topping:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- ¼ cup orange juice (or water)
- 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp orange zest
- ¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
- Pinch of salt
For Serving:
- Pita chips, crackers, or toasted bread slices
- Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish
Instructions
- Make the Cranberry Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey, orange zest, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally until cranberries burst and sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let cool completely. - Prepare the Whipped Feta:
In a food processor, blend feta cheese, cream cheese, olive oil, honey, and lemon juice until light, fluffy, and smooth. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. - Assemble the Dip:
Spoon the whipped feta mixture into a shallow serving bowl. Create a small well in the center and spoon over the cooled cranberry sauce. - Garnish & Serve:
Top with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh herbs. Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes before serving for best texture.
Notes
- Use block feta for best flavor—pre-crumbled feta often contains anti-caking agents that affect texture.
- Balance the flavors: If the cranberries are too tart, add a little extra honey or maple syrup.
- Texture tip: For extra creaminess, add a spoonful of Greek yogurt when whipping the feta.
- Make ahead: You can prepare both components a day ahead and assemble right before serving.
- Serving idea: Pair with toasted baguette slices, cucumber rounds, or even as a spread on sandwiches.
