Description

This creamy Cranberry Whipped Feta Dip combines tangy feta cheese, sweet-tart cranberries, and a hint of honey for a festive and flavorful appetizer. Perfect for holidays or parties—easy to make, delicious to serve!

Ingredients

For the Whipped Feta:

  • 8 oz (225 g) feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey (adjust to taste)
  • 12 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Cranberry Topping:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ¼ cup orange juice (or water)
  • 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp orange zest
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

For Serving:

  • Pita chips, crackers, or toasted bread slices
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the Cranberry Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, orange juice, honey, orange zest, cinnamon, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally until cranberries burst and sauce thickens. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  2. Prepare the Whipped Feta:
In a food processor, blend feta cheese, cream cheese, olive oil, honey, and lemon juice until light, fluffy, and smooth. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  3. Assemble the Dip:
Spoon the whipped feta mixture into a shallow serving bowl. Create a small well in the center and spoon over the cooled cranberry sauce.
  4. Garnish & Serve:
Top with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh herbs. Serve immediately or chill for 30 minutes before serving for best texture.

Notes

  • Use block feta for best flavor—pre-crumbled feta often contains anti-caking agents that affect texture.
  • Balance the flavors: If the cranberries are too tart, add a little extra honey or maple syrup.
  • Texture tip: For extra creaminess, add a spoonful of Greek yogurt when whipping the feta.
  • Make ahead: You can prepare both components a day ahead and assemble right before serving.
  • Serving idea: Pair with toasted baguette slices, cucumber rounds, or even as a spread on sandwiches.
