Description

Soft and fluffy homemade pretzels coated in butter and cinnamon sugar for a warm, comforting sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups warm milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast (or instant yeast)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 1/2 cups flour (adjust as needed)
  • 1/3 cup baking soda
  • 3 cups warm water

For Topping:

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon


Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk and brown sugar, then add yeast and let sit until foamy.
  2. Add butter, salt, and flour; knead into a smooth dough.
  3. Let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Divide and roll into ropes, then shape into pretzels.
  5. Dip each pretzel in baking soda water solution.
  6. Place on baking sheet and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10–12 minutes.
  7. Brush with melted butter and coat in cinnamon sugar.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Don’t skip the baking soda bath for authentic texture.
  • Adjust flour if dough feels too sticky.
