Description
Soft and fluffy homemade pretzels coated in butter and cinnamon sugar for a warm, comforting sweet treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups warm milk
- 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast (or instant yeast)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 4 1/2 cups flour (adjust as needed)
- 1/3 cup baking soda
- 3 cups warm water
For Topping:
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix warm milk and brown sugar, then add yeast and let sit until foamy.
- Add butter, salt, and flour; knead into a smooth dough.
- Let dough rise for 1 hour until doubled.
- Divide and roll into ropes, then shape into pretzels.
- Dip each pretzel in baking soda water solution.
- Place on baking sheet and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10–12 minutes.
- Brush with melted butter and coat in cinnamon sugar.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Don’t skip the baking soda bath for authentic texture.
- Adjust flour if dough feels too sticky.
