Description
A quick and irresistible pastry-style dessert made with crescent dough, melted butter, sugar, and mini chocolate chips. Perfect for a simple sweet treat any time of day.
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the crescent dough or puff pastry. If using crescent dough, pinch the seams closed to create a rectangle.
- Brush the entire surface with melted butter.
- Sprinkle evenly with granulated sugar and mini chocolate chips, pressing them lightly into the dough.
- Slice the dough into 1-inch strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
- Twist each strip by holding both ends and rotating in opposite directions. Place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly crisp.
- Cool for a few minutes, then dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- For extra chocolate flavor, drizzle melted chocolate over the twists after baking.
- Puff pastry will give a crispier, flakier twist, while crescent dough creates a softer texture.
- Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or a touch of cookie butter for flavor variations.
- Twist gently to avoid tearing the dough.
