These Cajun Baked Salmon Bites are tender, spicy, smoky, and ready in just minutes. Coated in a bold homemade Cajun seasoning mix, these salmon cubes bake up caramelized and flavorful.
Ingredients
For the Salmon Bites
- 4 skinless salmon fillets, cut into 1-inch cubes (600–700 g / 1.2–1.4 lb)
Cajun Spice Mix
- 2 tsp paprika (sweet or smoked)
- ¾ tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp dried thyme
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 2 ½ tsp brown sugar, packed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Prep the salmon:
Pat the salmon cubes dry with a paper towel and place them in a large mixing bowl. - Make the Cajun seasoning:
In a small bowl, combine the paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, thyme, pepper, cayenne, and brown sugar. - Season the salmon:
Drizzle olive oil over the salmon, then sprinkle the Cajun seasoning mix on top. Toss gently to coat all the cubes evenly. - Arrange on a sheet pan:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the salmon cubes into a single layer, leaving space between each piece. - Bake:
Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10–12 minutes, or until the salmon is tender, flaky, and lightly caramelized. - Serve:
Allow the salmon to rest for 2 minutes, then serve warm in bowls, tacos, salads, or on its own.
Notes
- Patting the salmon dry helps the seasoning stick and prevents steaming.
- For extra caramelization, broil the salmon for the last 1–2 minutes.
- Omit cayenne for a mild version or increase for more heat.
- Use smoked paprika for deeper, smokier flavor.
- Add a squeeze of lemon after baking to brighten the dish.
