Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup brown sugar (light or dark)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley or green onion (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Prepare Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in brown sugar and mix until dissolved. Remove from heat.
- Season Chicken: Pat chicken breasts dry with paper towels, then season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Assemble: Place the chicken in the baking dish and pour the garlic-brown sugar mixture evenly over each piece.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, depending on thickness. Spoon the sauce over the chicken halfway through cooking.
- Broil (Optional): For a golden caramelized finish, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end — watch closely!
- Serve: Let rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley or green onion before serving.
Notes
- Use thin, even chicken breasts for faster, more uniform cooking.
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before baking.
- Double the sauce — it’s perfect for drizzling over rice, veggies, or mashed potatoes.
- Don’t skip the resting time after baking; it locks in the juices.
- To make it spicy, add red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha.
