Ingredients
Waffle Donut Batter
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 large egg
- ⅓ cup milk
- ½ tablespoon oil
- 1½ cups shredded apples
Glaze
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3–4 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat waffle maker and lightly grease with nonstick spray.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cornstarch.
- In a separate bowl, whisk egg, milk, and oil until smooth.
- Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Fold in shredded apples evenly.
- Spoon batter into waffle maker and cook until golden and set, about 3–5 minutes.
- Remove and cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to form glaze.
- Drizzle or dip waffle donuts in glaze and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired.
Notes
- Use Granny Smith apples for a tart flavor or Honeycrisp for sweeter donuts.
- Avoid overmixing to keep the texture tender.
- Glaze while warm for better coverage.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in a toaster oven.
