Description

This elegant dark chocolate peppermint mousse is made with just water, chocolate, and peppermint extract. It’s airy, silky, and naturally dairy-free — a simple yet impressive dessert for holidays or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/8 cups water
  • 10 oz high-quality dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1/3 teaspoon peppermint extract


Instructions

  1. Heat water in a small saucepan until gently simmering (small bubbles forming along the edges). Remove from heat.
  2. Add chopped dark chocolate and let sit for 1 minute to soften.
  3. Whisk until completely smooth and glossy with no visible lumps.
  4. Stir in peppermint extract.
  5. Place bowl over an ice bath and beat with a hand mixer until the mixture thickens, lightens in color, and forms soft peaks (about 3–5 minutes).
  6. Immediately spoon into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
